World War I Grave Marker

This is the original grave marker
for Lieutenant Colonel Bernard Charlton, MC.
He was killed in action during the German offensive
at the Battle of St Quentin on the 22nd March 1918.

Soldiers often have to cope with harsh environments.
This heavily padded coat with fur lining was issued to soldiers
who fought in the Norway campaign in 1940.
