Originally the Normanby Parochial Institute.
Merged 1960 with Primitive Methodist Chapel (corner of Cleveland St and Patten St)
and used for various purposes such as a Youth Club from 1965.
Eventually the chapel building was sold, demolished and houses built on this site.
The proceeds paid for the Primitive Methodist Chapel to be demolished and rebuilt in 2004.
