The Rev. William Ward Jackson built Normanby National School in 1843.
The school masters house was added in 1862.
The school was demolished in 1985.
The Jennings houses were built on the site using the stone thus saving some part of the school.
The war memorial on the end wall was incorporated in the same position on the first house wall.
